Cotton Love yarn is an incredibly soft DK cotton yarn that is available in 10 botanically or low-impact dyed colours.  It is made according to Fair Trade conditions and is certified organic.  Our new Cotton Love yarn ticks all the boxes. Not only is it a beautiful yarn in its own right, but it also helps to provide an income for impoverished artisans and farmers in Peru.  Now that's Cotton Love.

Our Cotton Love yarn is certified organic, made according to fair trade principles, dyed using low impact dyes and is as soft as a cotton cloud.  It ticks all the boxes.  It is cool, lofty and slightly shiny, perfect for the whole family, including the littlest members.  It also comes with quite a story.

The long-staple Tanguis cotton is grown in the highlands of Peru, hand-picked and farmed using organic farming methods.  The opportunity to grow crops such as cotton allows them to continue to make a positive impact in the community.

The skilled artisans that create Cotton Love are often women from impoverished areas of Peru. They are paid a fair living wage and given good working conditions for their labour.  The workload is often distributed to be close to the workers’ homes, helping to save them up to a five-hour round trip to work each day, allowing them to better care for their families. Botanical or low impact dyes are used, according to ancient Peruvian traditions and techniques, conserving Peru’s national textile heritage.  Yarns are then dried using sun and wind, to continue to reduce their environmental impact.  The entire production process and the finished yarn is GOTS certified, which means it meets their strict social and organic environmental standards, every step of the way.

Available in 10 vibrant colours and because it is so lofty, is likely to pill if used in items that incur a lot of friction.
